This is a huge goal of mine and I finally made it. I couldn't be more proud of myself. I'm so excited because this number has been such a mental block for me. I've lost and hovered around it for so long, never actually able to break through. Now that I have, I can't wait to lose more. Next goal, 189.9!!! I know I can make it!Bethanyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14530862973002814364noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1826503211508814368.post-45498559257312917772010-05-20T17:26:00.000-07:002010-05-20T17:34:44.145-07:00ProgressWell.....its actually Day 11 of Atkins and I've lost 10.9 pounds as of just a few secs ago. I bet if I weigh myself in the morning, it will be even more. I can't believe I've lost a pound a day for the last 2 weeks. People at work are starting to notice it. One of the nicest people I know, Kim Young, tells me every day how she can see it in my face how skinny I'm getting it. I just love her!! I've made real progress with my workouts as well. I'm legpressing 130 pounds which better than most guys, but my real accomplishment is my cardio. I can't believe how far I've come. I'm working out twice a day for an hour each time and its really showing. I'm able to run on the elliptical machine as long as I want. I can't wait to start running on the treadmill again as soon as I get some new high-tech shoes. Then in the Fall, I should be ready to start running outside. Unfortunately, I'm still at pretty much my max heart rate, 190, throughout my entire workout, but I don't care. I'm going to keep pushing hard. I feel good the whole time I'm running. My breaths are slow and controlled. My heart rate is returning to resting heart rate faster after a work out. My heart and lungs are getting stronger every day and my body is shaping up fast. I'm determined to stick with it. I'm going on a cruise in October and I'm DEFINITELY going in a skimpy bikini.

And by the way, mom, since you're my only follower :).....keep posting comments. It really does help me along and I'm going to blog more often about progress.Bethanyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14530862973002814364noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1826503211508814368.post-51778459325260953212010-05-15T12:13:00.000-07:002010-05-15T12:18:19.862-07:00Just a quick updateI'm still doing well working out. I have Susan to thank for that. She's a great motivator/drill instructor, which is exactly what I need. We do really really really hard weights workouts for lunch every day and I'm trying to get an hour of cardio in each evening. I haven't been doing as well with the cardio because I was running into problems. When I run, even though my lungs and heart were healthy enough to keep going, my legs were KILLING me. I decided to go to a shoe store downtown and buy the best running shoes I can find. They measure your feet and make you stand in some kind of stuff to measure where the arch is. I'm sure this will be a BIG help and a BIG improvement from working out in my Skechers.

I've also been doing well on my diet. Today is Day 6 of Atkins. I've lost 8 pounds. People are starting to notice a difference :) 199 will be here before I know it..............Bethanyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14530862973002814364noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1826503211508814368.post-55980840427783571282010-04-19T18:18:00.001-07:002010-04-19T18:24:03.067-07:00My workoutI can't believe my workout today. I ran 4.5 miles in 1 hour on the elliptical machine. I have been running on the treadmill but my shins, hips and feet have been killing me. I'll see how far I can run on the treadmill tomorrow since its much harder than the elliptical, but I'm still very proud of myself. After dinner, I'll do my toning and stretching exercises. I'll be skinny before you know it!Bethanyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14530862973002814364noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1826503211508814368.post-37457584588125427932009-12-20T10:45:00.000-08:002009-12-20T11:11:17.016-08:00At it againI know this is the worst possible time in the world to try dieting, but I'm doing it. I've been holding strong since Monday and have already lost 6 pounds this week. That will have to be my motivation through Christmas. I don't know how I'll ever make it but I've got to try. I've set up a rewards list for my goals. My first reward.......a big screen HDTV.

199.9- HDTV
179.9- massage
159.9- Coach purse
139.9- a fantastic trip somewhere where I can wear a bikini!!

I should be at goal weight by July 4.Bethanyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14530862973002814364noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1826503211508814368.post-38466379773216797912009-11-14T11:00:00.000-08:002009-11-14T11:08:11.850-08:00WOW! What a long time! Its apparently been a long time since I blogged on here. I swear its not my fault! My computer got a virus and I have extremely limited internet access. So.....as far as a quick update......things are going well. I have a workout buddy at work. We go to the gym on lunch breaks. We've been every day last week and plan to keep it up. We've been doing about 15 to 20 mins of cardio, 15 to 20 mins of weights and 5 minutes for a little abs and stretching. Its not much but its a start for sure. I'm also going strong on Atkins. At this beginning of the week, I was at 209, I'm already down to 205. I can't quite seem to break that 200 barrier but I'll get there. I really want to hit that first goal by my birthday. That only gives me a few weeks so I need to stay focused.

I've been going back and forth about what to do about my diet for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Giving up all the wonderful cakes and pies and cookies is going to be sooo hard, not to mention giving up mashed potatoes. I'm trying to stay focused to work my way through it. I keep remembering about this spring when I was doing so well, and I had lost about 30 or 35 pounds. I decided to go off of my diet for a camping trip and I wanted to be able to have s'mores. Well...the thing about Atkins is that its super easy to stay on but its hard as hell to get started. After that, I never really was able to get started again. So now I've spent all summer fat....and for what??? A s'more???? It was not worth it!Bethanyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14530862973002814364noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1826503211508814368.post-40887667676540841742009-08-30T13:09:00.000-07:002009-08-30T13:14:24.611-07:00Sick

I've been sick the last few days and haven't been able to work out. Luckily, I did my yoga workout on Thursday with Kyra....too cute, but since then, I can barely breathe much less work out. I guess I'll just have to work double hard once I'm feeling better again.

Bethanyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14530862973002814364noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1826503211508814368.post-25377517329816235152009-08-25T23:34:00.000-07:002009-08-25T23:41:14.408-07:00Day I'm Not Sure AnymoreLost a few days there on my P90X but I've been sticking to my diet. Finding time to work out an hour a day is harder than I thought. I did my shoulders and arms today followed by the ab ripper workout. It was really good. I can totally tell that my triceps are going to be worthless tomorrow.

I had hardly any carbs today at all which isn't necessarily good. I had a sugar free rockstar and the meat and cheese portion of a lunchable with a string cheese for lunch. The I had fajita meat with onions, cheese and guacamole for dinner.Bethanyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14530862973002814364noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1826503211508814368.post-27698526314867150582009-08-19T22:21:00.000-07:002009-08-19T22:32:45.884-07:00Day 3OMG!!!!!! Today's workout was really really really really intense. Today was plyometrics. I was warned that I may throw up from this one and I wasn't far from it. Plyometrics is jump-training. A lot of squating and jumping in all kinds of directions. My legs feel like jello but now that my heart rate is slowing again, I already feel healthier. My lungs are taking in more air and my heart feels stronger. Not to mention, I'm sure if I keep this up, I'll have a great butt!! I'm not sure how I made it through an hour of this as I felt like I was going to die after about 20 minutes, but I did. According to the trainer, that's the toughest one, and I did it. Now I know I can handle this.

I ate well today. Still under my 20 grams of carbs each day. I had an Atkins granola bar for breakfast and a protein shake as a snack. I was so busy today at work, I couldn't get away for lunch. A friend brought me a chicken salad from Chick-fil-A around 5. I saw District 9 which made me pretty nauseous so doing this plyometrics right afterwards was probably not the best idea.Bethanyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14530862973002814364noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1826503211508814368.post-12006447588896044192009-08-19T22:19:00.000-07:002009-08-19T22:21:31.500-07:00Day 2I had a sugar free Amp and a chicken salad for lunch. Dinner was a protein shake and 2 double cheeseburgers with no bun. Lots of water today.

I wasn't able to do my workout which sucked. Its not my fault, I promise. I got home and the electricity was off. Had to spend the night in a hotel and they didn't have a DVD player. I did a few ab exercises but nothing intense. I'll have to double up this weekend or something to catch up.Bethanyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14530862973002814364noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1826503211508814368.post-62862764490609229712009-08-17T21:50:00.000-07:002009-08-17T22:01:45.513-07:00Day 1 - August 17, 2009

I missed breakfast this morning. For lunch, 2 double cheeseburgers from McDonald's with no bun plus a side salad with a little ranch dressing. I had 1 carb free rockstar and 1 Diet Coke at work. For dinner, a small cheap steak with a Worcestershire sauce. Drank all my water today.

I bought P90X today after work on Craig's list and I'm excited to start seeing results with that. Today was my first workout, Chest/Back. Unfortunately, I can't do any real pushups. I did the best I could and I can already feel sore in my shoulders.Bethanyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14530862973002814364noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1826503211508814368.post-15507885806446500752009-08-17T21:33:00.000-07:002009-08-17T21:50:30.534-07:00My purpose

I've been doing Atkins for several months and I've lost around 30 pounds but I haven't been sticking with it for the last month or two, so my weight has stayed about the same.
